NorthLadder has reached an exciting milestone on its journey of “Disrupting Full Circularity”: the establishment of our European headquarters. The Tree House in Utrecht, the Netherlands, located at Varrolaan 100, marks an important step in our growth and connection with Europe.

A Space Inspired by Community and Nature

The Tree House concept is based on the image of an ancient tree standing proudly in the centre of a village square — a place where people meet, share ideas and build connections. This vision is woven into every corner of the building. The centrepiece of the building is a central square with a large, symbolic tree, surrounded by the reception and barista bar. It is a place where encounters happen naturally, over a coffee, under the high ceiling or at one of the communal tables.

To bring this vision to life, several organisations have worked closely together to ensure that every detail reflects the concept of community and sustainability. Dietwee designed the graphic elements that harmonise with the natural theme of the building. The beautiful wooden tables and latticed wall panels, made by Houtvanjestad from reclaimed Utrecht ash trees, give the interiors a unique sense of local identity and circularity. Ditt designed the eye-catching carpets in the entrance, restaurant and meeting rooms, each depicting shadow patterns of trees and reinforcing the connection to nature. Even the multi-storey car park has well thought-out details: The markings are reminiscent of tree rings— – an allusion to growth and time. APF International played a key role in the development, ensuring that the space reflects both functionality and innovation.
