For any of these devices, you can go through the assessment and receive an immediate price quotes based on the device condition from our highest bidder. We accept devices that at least switch on. But we don’t accept devices that are counterfeit or jailbroken.

4How is the condition and price of my device determined?

There is a clear description of the condition and the price on our website. Our representative uses our App to verify the condition of your device, and our system automatically confirms the price based on that information. Fast, easy, and no haggling! Based on the final condition of your device, you will be guaranteed a payout from one of the four prices listed. What you see is what you get.

5What does the condition of my device mean?

There are 4 different grades to describe what shape your device is Flawless, Good, Average, and Below Average. These grades are based on how your device looks and how well it works.

An accurate description of the condition of your device and its features is crucial to have a fast and smooth process, as the condition of your device impacts the amount that will be offered to you.

6How do I know I am getting a good price?

Our competitive prices are based on bids placed by dealers from across the country. As such, when dealers compete to buy your device, what you get will be the highest quote on the platform.

7What do you do with my device?

Your devices are sold to dealers across the UAE who repair them and sell them to customers, thus extending the life span of the device and promoting a sustainable and circular economy. For your safety we now provide internationally approved, military-grade data wipe service along with a digital data wipe certificate for a small fee.

8Do I need to include accessories when I sell my device to NorthLadder?

For smartphones and tablets, we do not require any accessories. However, for laptops and smartwatches, charger is mandatory.

9What about my data?

We understand data privacy is a genuine concern. We recommend that you do a factory reset before handing over the device.

For a small fee, we could also erase data on your phone and tablet, using internationally approved software (used by leading brands in the USA and Europe). The data erasure for smartphones and tablets will be done in your presence and takes an average of 2 to 3 minutes. However since laptop data erasure takes 1-2 hours, we will have to take it back to our central processing center. Once completed we will instantly send you a data wipe certificate as proof of data erasure.

10How is the data wipe done?

Android Erasure

High Level (3 Times) - DoD 5220.22-M - Overwrite the data with a value, then with the inverse of that value, then with a random value, verifying the write after each step. The first two wipes theoretically pull the magnetic field fully in one direction, then fully in the other, eliminating any residue of the original value. Data is overwritten in 1st pass with 0's, 2nd pass with 1's, and the last pass with random segments for data sanitization.

iOS Erasure

The defaulted Erasure for iOS is Secure Cryptographic Erase. The data on the device is encrypted by default, a new AES-256 encrypted file system is added and the old encryption keys are permanently removed during the erasure process. Once the device Secure Erase is completed we can regain the connection to the device and update the Erasure status. This encrypted file system replacement makes the recovering of old data impossible.

11Can you back up my device?

We currently do not provide this service, we recommend you to back up your device before handing it over to our representative.

12What happens if the store does not accept the condition of my item?

Our condition descriptions and prices are clearly stated to help you understand the value of your device. When your device is assessed, the agent uses our App to verify the condition of the device and our system then automatically confirms the price based on your exact condition. Fast, easy and no haggling!

13What are the documents required for the deal?

You can use any of the following in original (no copies or photos):

  • Emirates ID
  • Driving license
  • Passport (you don’t have to be a resident of the UAE to use our service)

14Do I have to produce proof of ownership of an asset?

No. We only need a government issued photo ID in original of the person handing over the device.

15What are your store drop off and home pick up timings?

You can drop off any time during store hours, you can find specific details on our website. For home pick up, you can schedule a date from the website and our representative will arrange a specific time for pick up.

16Can I sell more than one device? Do I have to create separate price requests for each device?

Yes, you can sell as many devices as you like and create price requests for all of them. Alternatively, in order to save time, our representative can create the additional requests on your behalf and handle the additional devices.

17Can you collect my item?

Yes, we offer a free home pickup service. After you get a price, please click on the @Home option to let us organize the pickup.

18How does the home pick-up service work?

  • Once you confirm your request to sell your device on NorthLadder, you receive an email with a QR code and with your unique 13-digit reference code.
  • Our agent will call you within 24 hours and schedule a home pick at your convenience.
  • Once the home service agent assesses your device, he/she will confirm the price based on the condition of your device.
  • If you agree to the price, the home service agent will give you cash on the spot.

19How do I book a home pick-up service?

  • Visit, choose the device you want to sell
  • Add in your details and then choose your city and select “Home collection” as the collection method
  • Fill in the details of your location, the time, and the date you want the pick-up to be done
  • Confirm all your details and hit “Sell Now”

20Can the NorthLadder representative refuse to accept the device?

NorthLadder representative may refuse to accept the device only under these circumstances

  1. You do not have an original, valid government issued ID
  2. Device does not turn on
  3. You are not able to log out of your account on Google Drive or iCloud

21How does the Store Drop off work?

  • Once you confirm your request to sell your device on NorthLadder, you receive an email with a QR code and with your unique 13-digit reference code.
  • All you have to do is visit the selected shop within 3 days of your request and show the shop agent your unique 13-digit reference code
  • The shop agent then will assess your phone and confirm the price based on the condition of your phone
  • Once the price is confirmed, you get cash on the spot!

22What if there is no Store drop-off location near me?

No worries, choose our convenient free home pickup option, our agent will visit your location, assess your device and give you cash at your doorstep.

23Can the store owner refuse to pay the agreed cash amount?

The store owner may refuse to complete the deal under the following circumstances:

  1. You do not have an original, valid government issued ID
  2. Device does not turn on
  3. You are not able to log out of your account on Google Drive or iCloud
